the MWC HAS distanced itself from the other non-BCS conferences on the field-hopefully the average CUSA team can get closer than a -10 points per game in this years Sagarin Ratings. The MWC has proved a helluva of lot more than CUSA. Think this is pretty cheap criticism of a strong conference. A better question is when will CUSA become a strong non-BCS conference?

I agree that the MWC's credentials are stronger than CUSA. It would have helped CUSA had Central Florida beaten a very avg. Mississippi State team in the Liberty Bowl last year.

But the problem that TCU has is that it is in a conference run by BYU. That was the way it was when BYU was in the WAC and the way it is today. That's why the Frogs continue to get jacked around on their football schedule. BYU is the 900-pound gorilla.

BYU's influence is such that it will do whatever it can in its power to minimize serious threats such as the Frogs. Why do you think TCU is playing BYU on a Thursday after a road game at Colorado State? Does that not sound fishy?

Competition wise, it's been decent for TCU. Didn't they win the MWC a couple of years ago? Baseball has no competition in that league. Hoops have struggled and the once-strong girls program is what would be considered an off time for it. If they are happy with it, then let them stay there and gut it out.

But they went there on the thinking the MWC would someday be a BCS league. Ain't gonna happen.

The MWC is no closer to getting a BCS league affiliation than CUSA because of the powers that be in the east who control that. The MWC always points to the Big East being the weak link. Not anymore after what West Virginia, Rutgers, South Florida and Louisville are doing.
