Thanks mm65. I have gotten a great response already about the party. People are either going to the game or they are not. Having an event will not change our rice attendance. Unfortunately, it would be incredibly irresponsible for me to leave that particular friday. Hell, it might even be actionable. I don't look at a piece of paper Monday morning for an assignment... I know what I'm doing pretty far in advance everyday for the rest of the year. Its regrettable that I can't leave thst Friday. But my priorities are in the right place. You would like Christies, mm65.

You are welcome to come to Sherwood and watch it at my place. I will supply your choice of refreshment.

SMU has a good alumni base in Houston and we had several thousand at the last Rice game in Houston in 06. Being JJ's first game, I would think we will have a very good turn out. I know alot of people going who don't go to many away games.

Easy drive over to Corsicana. Pick 'em up at the new Collin Street Bakery on I-45. Get some pastries for the remainder of the road trip, too. ;)

Just don't pick up those hitchhikers near Huntsville.

Having never been to this place, I am a bit worried about the crowd. Is it normally packed during prime time on a Friday anyway and hard to get a table and will be much worse when the regulars and the Pony Fans all show up?

That Tulane watching party 2 years ago was a hoot, probably the most fun I have ever had watching a game at a bar, place was packed with SMU fans!

I get out of class at 1:50 pm on friday. I'll be tailgating in downtown Houston by 6. See you boys there.
We've never lost the tailgate.

I can assure you that all pony fans will be accomodated. The venue we are attempting to have this event at is not a greenville avenue drinking hole disguised as a sports bar. Christies is a less trendy, more mature sports bar in my area. It is is sizable enough for the entire crowd of public house and again some. If more seats are needed, they will convert pool tables to tables. I can't promise things out of my control, but I can promise an excellent response to any issues any of my smu brothers might have that night. I will be there. Just ask for ed. I have never been a man to hind behind the intern et. I will be there. I hope others will as well, if you cannot get to the rice game.
