Don't confuse indifference to NTSU with dislike of NTSU.

Agreed. I'm just saying it makes long term geographical and economic sense to play them. They will always bring a lot of people. They hate us. Certainly more inbreds than SFA would bring.

One of the greatest debacles for a head coaching debut was against Navy as well...............

Service Academies are always a great non-conference option. They get a fair amount of TV exposure and have a pretty good football "name" while always being beatable. They also travel very well. You will find that when Navy plays at SMU that the Naval Academy will fly out a good deal of midshipmen to support their team.

I can fully understand not wanting to play SFA but other than that what games can you be upset with? The majority of these games are great draws and old rivals. A far cry from some of our scheduling in the past which at times has seemed clueless.
Also, I don't get people who always go on and on about playing Vandy and Duke, etc. If I'm Orsini I don't create my football schedule based on the most popular place for rich Parkie kids to attend school or perceived school "class" and "prestige". I'd pick it based on whats best for the football program, which it appears to me is what Steve-O is doing.

I would be suprised if that 2012 home game against Aggy actually happens. I believe they have a deal to play a game at Jerry World that same year (maybe vs. Arkansas, but not 100% sure of the opponent). Since they will already have one game in the DFW area, I wouldn't be suprised if they back out of this one.

I hope aggy does show up in '12 as one of my fantasies is to see Peruna run over one of their ice cream men.

Navy is a win, win for both schools. They attract a large crowd. Every ex-sailor roots for Navy. They are willing to do home-home scheduling, not 2 for 1. They want to have exposure to Texas for recruiting purposes. And they are a good barometer team. Better than average, won't hurt the RPI, but not a hopeless experience. I think Duke would be a good series to have sometime actually. They might not bring a huge crowd, but they might also consider and home and home because they need to recruit nationally. They have a similar problem to ours. All of the really good NC and VA football players go elsewhere and those recruiting pools aren't very large to begin with. And their strength of schedule gets credited to our RPI if we beat them. I would also like to see Army added to the schedule some day as well. But I like the schedule. I think that Orsini has a five year plan in mind. In 2013, when we play the Aggies, Bears, Frogs and Raiders as well as CUSA, he's thinking that if we can pull off running the table that year, we have a chance at a BCS bowl. No pressure June.

I've been thinking that even before the Arkansas contract. I thought the Arkansas contract would have solidified a cancellation of that game; however, it looks like they've added the 2013-2014 games. I thought the contract was 2-1 deal.

Fantastic game. I was a senior in high school at the time. I was parked out at White Rock Lake watching the submarine races but did have the radio on. Great win.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
