He would be stupid not to. Tulane lost their qb to probaseball and were weak at that position. He could set for a year and still have a good playing year or two.

You're the first.
Nope. He asked a question, counselor. He did not make a statement to that effect.
Obviously SMU is paying JJ, and not one of us here on Ponyfans, big $$$ to make these decisions .
My suggestion is to let the professionals make the football decisions while we sit back and play Monday Morning QB's after the final whistle blows.
Just my $0.02 from the lovely Hilton Anatole in beautiful downtown Dallas!

They moved the Anatole to downtown? That must have been some flatbed.

Do I need geography lessons?
USC's geography department is obviously very overrated!

From some of the Anatole rooms, I believe you can see the Dallas downtown skyline about a half mile or so away...particularly spectacular at night.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

anyone know of a D1 quarterback who has led his team to a winning season without any D1 experience? I can think of two...Mitch Mustain at Arkansas his freshman year and Max Hall at BYU last year. Hall hadn't played since 2003 when he was in high school.

Looks like the decision of a guy who is confident he will have 5 years to get this thing turned around. Makes those 1st 2 games even more interesting. Nothing like a national TV debut for the kid.
You know as daunting as that sounds, how many people are going to spend their Friday nights watching SMU play Rice? Not too many outside of us diehards.
Larry Brown? We have Larry Brown? Cool!

Hmmm....yeah didn't he have DMcFadden and other solid players around him (which I assume he would, Arkansas usually pulls decent talent)? Not to take away from such an accomplishment but I'd rather be in his shoes than Bo's.

How do you see this playing out do I book a seat on a flight to see a few games late in the season are do I wait a few years.

Prediction on SMU v Rice attendance: 44,500. Any Katy residents who aren't dove hunting will be there.

Haha that's creative . I'll take the jtstang route as I have since JJ was hired and not have any expectations. Soon it will be time to see what we are working with. The sky ain't falling people.

Right, but I am just trying to figure out the success stories. Maybe that will help me keep my hopes up.

Dove hunting dosen't open until Monday. I will be back from our win Houston in time to shoot a couple of cases of shells, and drink a couple of cold ones.
