Dickerson's role with the new regime

Postby SmooBoy » Wed Aug 20, 2008 3:00 pm

So with ED being the highest (living) profile former player (with apologies to Berry, Gregg, James, ponyte, and expony), seems like he might be the most beaten down as far as getting asked the "How's your school looking?" question. What should we look for as far as ED contributing the "new" era of Mustang football? I know the guy has felt unwelcome at times in the past, and embarrassed about the state of the program at others. Does this finally push him back into a role with marketing the team?

I hope so. History's history...no use sweeping it under the rug.

ED is one of the greatest rb's of all time, and CJ is a very well-known media personality these days. I'd like to see a "pony express" reunion or dedication at some halftime.

I would also like to make our sideline resemble that of USC or Texas...big names on the field watching the game. Dallasites like Troy, Playmaker, Moose, Deion, Angie Harmon, Jessica Simpson and any famous SMU alums...

Not to dis any of the other coaches we have had, but JJ seems well liked and well connected with the football community. Perhaps he could entice a few stars to be on our sidelines (televised games of course).

Of course the first that comes to mind is Nastia of Olympic fame.

We need the fellas focused on the game, not the chicks on the sidelines with them!

He'll probably have to start off as bag man and work his way up.

More like reminding them of what they are playing for.

Or could this be a more motivating figure?

Why not for the Rice/ESPN game at least have someone like Nastia on the screen with her announcing the starting offense/defense

I still want her to do those little flippy things across the field in front of Peruna.

And I like the way YOU think. Can she do that for 120 yards? I'm betting yes.

Somersaults?

She got screwed out of the gold medal in the high bar. That tie-breaker in the scoring system is lame. Dual gold?

Really, that was ridiculous.

almost as ridiculous as Alicia Sacramone's losing out on a medal to the girl who fell.

No. Flippy things. I can do a somersault. She does flippy things with twisty things thrown in sometimes.
