Somersaults? She got screwed out of the gold medal in the high bar. That tie-breaker in the scoring system is lame. Dual gold?
Really, that was ridiculous. almost as ridiculous as Alicia Sacramone's losing out on a medal to the girl who fell.
I like watching gymnastics because of the strength and skill that's required. I know the boys coach at Euless Trinity, and he has a long history in the sport. He gave me a great appreciation for the sport.
Plus, the fact he likes Bob Knight.
Anyway, I understand the gymnasts need to hit certain skills for the judges but sometimes, I think the judges skew the scoring out of favortism.
It leaves you with that same feeling there was at the Winter games in Salt Lake City in pairs figure skating when that couple from Canada got the shaft before it was learned a judge was "on the take'' and the matter was corrected.

I'm probably going to hell for this one. But personally, I think that if Eric sends his lingerie league team in his place, that would be fine with me.

If it involves a judge, then it really isn't a sport. It is a beauty contest.
Not to dis the skill and athletes involved but judging leaves too much subjective and doesn't have enough objective criteria.
Plus, now one can't even trust a communist country issued passport.

I watched a little of the boxing which has certainly lost its glamour. The announcers said it was probably going to get dropped in the future because thay had no way to control the cheating amongst the judges.

Wow, boxing is one of the oldest Olympic sports. I can't imagine them dropping boxing even if its full of sleezebags. Heck, its more of a sport than ping pong.

There are also three Irishmen going to medal in Boxing.

I hear that binge drinking might be a demonstration sport in 2012. They've got a good shot to sweep there, too
