The most pleasant surprise Friday will be our defense. Our offense may start slow, somewhat jittery, but I really think this defense, if it can stay healthy will be a real positive surpise. They are better coached and the style of play has got the players fired up. We are thin, but the there are some real players in the mix.

This is an all out D that will give up some points. The O has to be able to score. Luckily we are ahead 1-0 in the 2nd.

I haven't seen anything except what others have written. I am still concerned about our defense. It will be a pleasant surprise if our Defense shuts down Rice (somewhat). I do hope that our secondary which has been porous at best for 2 years it a bit more effective.
A more effective pass rush would also be a plus.

Slow starts sometimes finish with happy endings.

I think that we have put several players in better positions-- not only on the depth chart, but when they are on the field to may plays.

The D is going to be more Boom and Bust than the West Texas Oil industry.

Don't worry about the D!
Their ready to eat raw meat. I watched them @ seven practices.
If you have to worry about anything, worry about the O line giving the QB 2 seconds. And sticky stuff on the hands of our receivers.
