Regardless of our record of recent failure, it is never, I repeat never, inappropriate to make fun of Baylor.
Maybe he'll cheer up if you tell him a good baylor joke, KS?
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

I'm looking forward to having another series with Baylor and expect it should be very competiive, just as our last 2 games with them have been.
Meanwhile, that's tough scheduling to open with Wake - a team that can compete with anyone in the ACC these days

Interesting read as I'm catching up on the SMU/Rice game. It's 56-20 Rice right now in the third quarter...
SMU has 7 yards rushing and 224 yards overall. Great opener against a ConfUSA team.
Let's see, get blown out by one of the favorites to challenge for the ACC crown and top 25 team Wake Forest, or get absolutely blasted by RICE where the game is out of reach in the third quarter?
Just remember, you're paying JJ $166,667 for this game.

Come now Judge lets not be aggies about this, both teams have a very long way to go (although I must admit that BU did kill Rice last year). I think BU sohuld play Rice, SMU, & TCU every single year.

Quite frankly, neither BU or SMU has much room to talk. BU hasn't done anything in the Big 12 to show that they would be any better in CUSA. Just being in the Big 12 doesn't mean you're good, and anyone could go 0-8 in that conference like BU does most of the time.
And SMU, well, we saw it on TV tonight.

Yeah, ok. And if Ann Richards hadn't been governor a few years back you might be the one stuck in C-USA. Both of our teams suck, ours obviously a little more. Just shut it, at least for tonight.

It was Politics that got us into the Big XII, but it wasn't Ann Richards...

The Ann Richards bit is so wrong-headed it's hilarious it's still brought up as often as it is. Baylor being included in the Big XII begins and ends with the merger wanting enough teams to have a championship game (requires 12), and Baylor being the third best team in the SWC for the past few years (Baylor was at least tied for third in the conference in 5 of the last 6 years of the SWC, and didn't finish behind any team that was left out of the Big XII in any of the last 6 years). SMU was in the bottom two of the conference in 5 of the last 6 years of the conference.
I didn't start this thread, just responded to it. It was premature, misguided and frankly a baffling thread for SMU fans to start.
Baylor shot ourselves in the foot quite a bit (3 turnovers led to short fields and 17 points), and shared SMUs problem with installing a new offense.
BTW, it was good to see Logan Turner beat up on some third stringers to finish the game. QB controversy?

I don't care about Baylor, our dead ex-governor, or who our QB is. This team sucks again, and that's all I can think about.
At least I didn't drive to Houston.

lol.... Well, if it makes you feel better, I did drive to Waco. And it was terrible.
I think JJones is going to be just fine, just like I think Briles is going to be great for Baylor. We'll both get well next week against cream puff opponents.

In football yes we suck, have sucked, and will continue to suck....but in everything else our Big XII alliance has done wonders for us.

What, women's basketball? No one except Tennessee, UConn, and Texas Tech care about that sport.
As far as the other sports go, I haven't seen BU's name as a regular in the NCAA men's tournament, and very few really care about nonrev sports such as baseball and track.
Football is what matters, and it's what funds everything. When you suck, have sucked, and will continue to suck in football then you definitely don't belong in the Big XII.
