Offensive line looked decent

I would have to give them a decent grade at this point.

I agree. This goes hand in hand with what I thought was a real plus for Mitchell. He wasn't running for his life all night. He ran through his progression first. He stood strong in the pocket and stepped up. I think maybe that's another reason June went with him over JW.

Beachum looks like a more athletic Kenard Burley.

This was Rice folks-they never have great d-lines.

Correct it was Rice, but I agree the OL did a much better job of protecting Mitchell than last year and they should get better with experience. In my opinoin the OL and Mitchell's pass speed were the two highlights of the offense.

They have not had a problem in sacking us several times in the past.

I think they kept the heat off the QB-no sacks-that's pretty good for a team that passes so much. As for the running game-again Martin has a slow first step-he's got to scoot on the first step-the Running Attack must be a quick hitting surprise. I don't think he has those skills in this offense. He would probably be a very productibe TB in the I-Formation because he is solid after two steps.

Just hope and pray we stay away from injuries in the Offensive Line. The two deep includes-according to the Game Day SID Report-a 6-2, 244 Pound true Freshman TACKLE!!!!!!!! A 6-2, 256 true freshman Center, and a 6-4, 270 pound true freshman Tackle. None of these kids have any business suiting up for a D1A team as true freshman. What is the status of J.T. Brooks and Chase Smith. I believe both are recovering from injuries-are they going to be availiable this year? How about next year because we have a developing catastrophe here with 3 graduating starters. Luckily we've addressed these needs in recruiting with some quality recruits-but recruits who should be playing 2011 not 2009.
