Why don't we actually use a quarterback who is used to the spread offense?
Turner ran this offense in high school and in spring practice and Willis ran a "version" of it last year?
If we want to go younger, split reps between Turner and Bo and see who performs the best on the field.
Just because JJ says that BLM is the future...... doesn't mean he is. I'm all for giving the youngster more reps to work into the office and grow accustomed to throwing it 50 times a game. But - from what I saw on rivals.com and at a few practices this spring and summer, Turner can absolutely shred a defense if given the time.
The o-line looked fairly good last night and I think any quarterback who is in there will have time to get rid of the ball if they make the right reads.
BLM won in high school for a team that ran the ball most of the time, which lulled defensive backs to sleep. This isn't "quite" the same offense as that......
Most people trust JJ as most people should. However, I'm just not 100% sold on BLM in this type of offense.
He played very admirably and I don't doubt his skills. But - fatigue and lack of arm strength late in the game aren't the same as saying, "He's a freshman.....give him time"..
If we are going to suck, let everyone see who truly "wins" the quarterback job.........on the field.
