Once BYU busts the BCS, i think they'll sign a pretty lucrative deal with ESPN

Too bad Craig Thompson and the MWC leveraged their future on the crappy "The Mountain" channel. As far as I understand it, they are locked in for a long time.

I do see a good number of games on Versus, so they could have a deal with them as well. I'll have to look that up

So you wont See them on ESPN. There is a MWC school playing ND on NBC this year It remains to be seen if the MWC's decision to dump ESPN for CSTV will deliver. But if blueprints on the table have any credibility at all, just the "more friendly" aspect of game start times and days as a non-ESPN slave should deliver a ton of satisfaction to MWC fans.

All I know is 11 of our 12 games are on tv and that makes me happy. Maybe (opk definitely) not the best exposure nationally but certainly a great deal for the fans.

The problem is that not every cable system picks up Mtn. They will have some pick ups in their footprint, but not much outside of their footprint except if you get DirectV and pay the extra fee for the sports package. They also have found that to get exposure, they too have been having to schedule games on Thursdays as well which was not my understanding of what TCU was buying into. Yes, CUSA has ESPN games on Tuesdays and Thursdays sometimes, but that gives much more exposure to the conference and its teams. And of course they are still having problems locking down bowl games.

This year we have 3 games on the Mtn (all home games) and another 8 on Versus or CBS Sports TV so still some good coverage even outside the Mtn. Not arguing that our tv deal is great by any means but I am thrilled with it - especially since I have had directv and the sports package for years.

Why do you give a damn about the Mountain West TV deal, anyway? As long as we can see the SMU/Froggy High game, the rest of that conference and its games is meaningless. I don't care if they're on CNN, cable access or not on at all.
I like watching other games as much as anyone, but the MWC is a complete non-factor to me.
