Missing in Action

Postby MustangMan2001 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 3:45 pm

Anybody have any ideas on how I can get out of a party with my wife to go to the game. I have the tickets already but, I would also like a home to come home to afterwards.

You offer to go get ice and then make up your lie after the game on the way home.

threaten to have your headphones on the whole time at the party and refuse to wear anything but smu gear. I would definitely prefer my husband go to a football game than listen to the game on the radio and not talk to anyone.

this is exactly what I would do. Im sure theres a PF that will allow you to sleep on their couch if you have no home to go to

Get as drunk as possible right before the party. That way she'll be too embarassed to take you, and will have to drop you off at the game to keep you from messing up the house.

Trust me, she'll have more fun at the party without you. She probably only invited you to be nice. Just tell her you think she should have "girl's night" and spend time with her friends. Give her some money and tell her to go buy some new shoes. Not only will you have a home to come home to, but you'll reap the benefits...if you know what I mean.

That would be a problem too since the party we are going to will involve heavy amounts of alcohol... they would insist on me coming even in a pure state of stupidity.. These are great ideas by the way.

My sentiments exactly. It's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.

Go to the game. When you get back home, refuse to admit you ever left.

"Honey, I swear, I was have been here the whole time!"

BTW, I'm single. I'm not sure if this will work.

I guess I could just get her really drunk and let her pass out and then go to the game... I think we have a winner.

It's good to use the "honey, there are only 6 weekends a year for SMU home games, 6 out of 52, is that too much to ask that I have a few hours away 6 times a year spending time in a nice wholesome family atmosphere?" or you can always offer her usage of the AmEx card during the game.
