On the hot seat

On the hot seat

1. Dave Wannstedt, Pittsburgh - For the second time in his four seasons Pitt lost its opener at home after being ranked in preseason. And Buffalo is no pushover.

2.June Jones, SMU - SMU isn't paying Jones $2 million a year to lose 56-27 to Rice. This week: Texas State.

3. Mike Sherman, Texas A&M - A road loss Saturday to New Mexico, which is possible, after a home loss to Arkansas State would make the 12th Man angry.

4. Tommy Bowden, Clemson - Boos will be heard if Citadel is close in second half.

5. Tyrone Willingham, Washington - If BYU's offense showers points on Huskies, it could get ugly in Seattle.

6. Rich Rodriguez, Michigan - Wolverines had better hammer Miami-Ohio, a decent MAC team.
SMU - IT'S YOUR TURN

FIRE JUNE JONES

I serious doubt that he is on the hotseat after 1 week. They surely have a lot more confidence in his that to fire him after one bad season. Lets be realistic it has been a while since that has happened and we stuck with the likes of Cavan and Stash

I will say it now... if they fire him after one season, I will cut all ties to SMU. That isn't going to happen!!!!

JJ isn't going anywhere. He will be here as long as he wants.

Out of the question. Orsini knows this will take longer than a year to fix.

I paid my Mustang Club donation for 2008...not 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013!

I'm not willing to fund my 4th "5 year plan."

How about funding your "we're one game into the first year" plan?

Three of the guys on that list (June Jones, Mike Sherman and Rich Rodriguez) are exactly one game into their new jobs.

I'm guessing that guy didn't have a "one-idiotic-article-and-you're-out" clause in his contract, and for that, he should be very grateful.

The "hot seat" doesn't always mean "fired tomorrow." It can mean: lose again a game you should win and some will start asking embarrassing questions like, "What the -----, over?

June is going with a freshman QB. No one should expect any miracles for a while.

The article says "hot seat" not EJECTION SEAT.

We lose to TXST, and a few people's seats, and heads will start warming
to a boil :!:
