Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

Postby PonyTime » Tue Sep 09, 2008 1:19 pm

Know this was mentioned in the "I hate the PA guy" thread.

First off - I disagree with the Journey haters. Personally - I would rather hear Journey than the PA guy.

In fact - I think we could use some more 80s flashbacks (perhaps a little Final Countdown to start the 4th Q), but I wish they would throw some Dickerson / James / McIlleney / Romo (vs UCONN) 80s highlights into the video mix instead of the close ups of Steve Perry. I could have put something better together with my IMac in about an hour using SMU vid clips and Itunes.

This is game 1 - I can only expect that things can only get better (Wow wow wow oh, wow wow wow oh oh oh oh)

I agree. I didn't have a problem with playing the song, but the video was terrible. It looked like some freshman class project.

Have a feeling a video highlight clip of the 21-10 game is being cut as we speak.

And more shots of The Boulevard to match up with the "Up and down the Boulevard" lyric

much better than "mission impossible" theme which was played as smu ran onto the field vs texas tech.. still can't get over that one.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

Still seeking the identity of the young gentleman who interrupted the Knuckleheads' halftime show with his a capella rendition of "Don't Stop Believin'" at Moody last year. Seriously, there is a lot to admire in that

Don't Stop Bo-Levi'n was my favorite part of all the new gameday experience upgrades. That and fixing the sorry-piece-of-**** PA system. The carnival barker was a little too loud IMHO, and he got a bit tiresome by the end of the game. But I'm glad to say that for the first time since the stadium opened, the sound system sounded good.

Maybe getting enough butts in the seats cut down on all the reflected noise. Whatever. Sound system sounded good 4 once.

And Don't Stop Bo-Levi and Up and Down the Blvd. had section 104 rockin'!

Kudos to the Athletics Dept.!

Agreed. Kudos to the SMU Athletic Department on this one.

Please don't take away my 4th Q Journey - by halftime - it could be all I have to look forward to for a couple of the home games.

Any way you want it

PS,

We will never know, but I think he was whacked for several reasons.

1) Director said he gave viewers ‘hints’ as to Tony’s fate.
2) A couple of episodes prior to grand finale, when Tony and Bobby were on the boat talking about what happens when you die, Bobby said he thought everything simply goes black.
3) On the next to last episode??, after Bobby has died, Tony has a flash-back to boat scene when Bobby says things go black.
4) Person who goes into restroom ala Michael Corleone at the very end of the final episode was wearing a ‘Members Only’ jacket.

Anyways…that is my $.02...making the Soprano's into a movie would of course change my opinion of Tony's fate.
