A tale of two coaches:
"Their coaches, on the other hand, each project such a distinct personality type that surely most people can relate to one or the other. Whether you respect them or loathe them, chances are you share commonalities with one or the other.
So which is it? Are you a Tressel guy or a Carroll guy? Do the ladies dig the sweater vest or the smile?"

OSU is a poor excuse for a football team. I have grown awfully tired of this Big X sleeper sneaking into the mix only to be absolutely dismantled by bigger, faster SEC teams. USC will likely make a case to the college football world that we should ignore Big X champions for years to come when it comes to slotting the 1 v 2 game in January
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

BTW, love the College GameDay ad with Carroll and Kirk Herbsteit and Herby dodging Carroll's calls. Phone ringing with Ice Cream man sound is pretty funny.

It's not overrated. The conference has pretty much been getting bashed during the offseason because of how bad it's been tanking for the last two years.
That's no secret. I don't know where you're getting that from.

CLEARLY it is overrated right now. OSU had NO business in either of the last two championship games. The only reason they got there is because voters failed to properly discount the quality of their opponents, including the 2006 UT team that had won the year before.
Bottom line, General, is that the conference remains overrated

With apologies to jtstang on this, but I'm responding to those who have made this baseless claim.
I completely disagree with that. Ohio State got to the last two championship games because of the flawed BCS system. They were probably not the best opponent for either Florida or LSU, but that's what the computer produced.
The pundits are now calling out/daring Ohio State to even win the big one because the Buckeyes haven't. Many a college gameday shows have talked about how the conference needs to do this and that....and they would be right.
It's probably fourth in strength behind the Pac 10, SEC and Big 12. Maybe a smidge better than the ACC and Big East. And all of the pundits, the coaches and commissioner Jim Delaney know they are in a down cycle.
This a statement weekend for the conference with Ohio State, Wisconsin at Fresno State and Michigan at Notre Dame. If they implode this weekend, the harsh criticism continues.
I think you're confusing overrated for exposure. Yes, the Big 10 is on TV a lot. Why? Each school has a huge alumni base and the national contracts are attractive for ESPN and ABC to negotiate.
Overrated? No. The conference stinks and needs to get its [deleted] together.

USC 28
THE Overrated State University 17
This one will be close for most of the game because SC is feeling pretty cocky because they know that OSU is highly overrated. The Suckeyes will play it close to the vest (no pun intended) for most of the game to shorten the game clock, but SC pulls away in the 4th quarter with their speed.

I don't think you're an idiot because I don't know you.
That said, you gave your opinion on what should have happened as opposed to what actually did happen. You provided no analysis.
You just threw out there, "Ohio State sucks and the Big 10 is overrated'' Well, get in line with everybody else who says that about School X and Conference Y.
Can you tell me exactly why it's overrated and why Ohio State sucks? BTW, the polls were only a part of the equation of setting the BCS title game. So where are you going with this?
I illustrated where the conference was struggling and made very valid points. If you are going to continue this debate, then put some thought into it.
I just want to do it with somebody who will do their homework. You did none of that.
