The problem is that you HAVE a proven QB, probably one of the few positions we don't need immediate rebuilding (Sanders and Morestead) and you throw BLM out there to further drive us into the ground? If he is the better QB, then great, play him, but he is CLEARLY not. A good leader knows when he is wrong and let me tell you, JJ is one stubborn SOB.

This is just JJ's first year, so no big deal to him. For the rest of us, this is year 21 of rebuilding. STOP using the rebuilding as an excuse. TONS of programs bring in a good coach and show immediate improvement.

JJ lied! JWill will graduate in June 09. JJ lied about the QB competition. JJ lied about the revelation he had after his car crash. He stated that he was going to do everything he could to improve the lives of young people, liar! JJ has his staff doing class checks on JWill when he has no intention on playing JWill at any position. Whats up with that?

Can we get a ban for slandering the head coach's personal life?

The comments made on this board about JWills personal life, and you should ban me? Everybody should be banned if slander is the issue. I am just stating facts about what has taken place. JWill has moved on from the QB situation. He is not bitter, he wants to get better, doing what he can to help this team win. How many of you would not play him somewhere. Face it people, we are bad and JWill is good. Put him on the field?

glad to see you back on the board bigdaddy. the only true problem i think why JW isnt playing QB is because he really isnt a Run N Shoot system QB. JW has never and will never have the patience to stay in the pocket

JWill is fine with that. I think everyone can see that JWill has moved on from the QB competition talk. That is water under the bridge. Let's put the best players on the field and try to compete. JWill is a football player, not a QB. He will do what it takes to win. Just like he has tried to do in the past.

BigDaddy,

I was just about to give you props, until you gave up on Willis at QB. He is not really tall enough for receiver (although I am sure he will be fine) and by the way did I mention...he is a HELLUVA good QB.

LET THE KID PLAY. HE DESERVES IT AND SMU FANS DESERVE IT!!!!

Give us something...anything....to cheer about. We are the "thirstiest" fans around. JJ has given us nothing to cheer about.

Sounds like he cares about this kid getting an education. Horrible trait for a coach.

What lie did he tell Willis? If he told him he was the starter, granted that was a lie. I don't believe he told Willis that, do you?

I am not a Willis, else I would have spouted off about this months ago.

First thing, JWill has moved on from the QB thing. That is history. You can't see that. He is willing to play any position to help this team win. He is not the selfish cancer some of you think. His teammates know his heart. Put the best people on the field and give BLM some support. He is a good kid with a future as well.

There was never any academic issues. It was just a smoke screen. JWill takes care of his own grades and education, and has for many years before JJ. He will graduate in June 09. How do you suppose JWill got into SMU?

Lie #1. QB competition.
#2. Reevaluate QB situation after 3 games.
#3. JWills grade issues.

He should have just told JWill he was not a fit and moved him to another position during the summer. JWill would have done it and we would have been better as a team.

Why would anyone associated with JWill be bitter. He is a record setting QB, freshman all american and HM all conference selection, as well as a damn good kid. JWill is doning fine and wants to move on and help this team win. BLM is our QB. I have no problem with that. He is a good kid with plenty of upside. JWill has had a wonderful time at SMU and has more to come. Who else on this board can say they were the face of the program, threw 52 TD's and right at 6000 yards. I am not a bitter man. Competition makes people bitter or better. Does JWill look bitter to you. Did you see him run out on the field with seconds to play, just to get in the game. This kid is a football player!

JWill is just as tall or taller than Hines Ward, Randell El, and several others. He can do it. We all know he is better talent than what we have on the field.

Big Daddy,

I asked this question on another thread before reading this one.

Why didn't JWill transfer to another program were he could have continued as QB?

btw...I wish him all the best

im not bigdaddy but the best answer to this question would be this question...

would you rather get your degree from SMU or a small, maybe unknown FCS like Sam Houston or Texas State?

I would agree that JW should play more. If he can play defense. Look, JJ wants to groom Bo. So be it. The games we dont win this season, maybe all of the remaining ones, were lost by PB on the recruiting trail for the last 5 years. Does anyone notice that we simply dont match up defensively to Division I opponents? We were lucky not to lose by 70 to TCU. Why? Because TCU has been recruiting much of the talent that we used to recruit back in the 80s and even the 70s when we had teams that lost, but did so competitively. The true test for JJ will be his recruiting. Lets do what we can to support the team by showing up for the games, staying until the end, and show the recruits that the fans do support the program. That is all we as fans can do. Oh, and give to the Mustang Club.

You are his dad, you aren't, you have his dad's permission to be his mouthpiece, you post a phone number on the board claiming that we need to call and have it out with JWill's dad over the phone. Whatever. You've claimed to be so many different people on this board that it is ridiculous. Sorry if we don't all take your word as gospel truth.

I am going to call absolute BS on your claim that JW's grades issue is completely made up. What a joke. A D1 coach is going to make up a rumor about the starting qb just to get his guy in place? Get over yourself - JW messed up.

Also, I love when people point out the names of a couple guys in the NFL that are the same size as guys on our team. A couple nfl guys? Yea exactly. A few people out of the thousands of undersized guys in all of college football have made the transition to the next level. That's not going to be JW. You don't know anything about anything.
