We have the Vard, Tulane has Bourbon Street. Just a guess, but if I was a Tulane fan has a choice between watching the Greenies or hitting Bourbon Street, well that is a tough one. And the fans could easily have left by the middle of the first quarter as Tulane had it in the bag.
Keep in mind that NO has just experienced a hurricane and that impacts disposable income for a lot of folks. We also are in a financial meltdown and that has folks watching their pockets. It was a Thursday so school night as well. Multiple possibilities why the crowd was thin. Oh, and it was a 1-3 team taking on a 1-2 team. Not exactly the highest caliber of college ball available in the state.

Financial meltdown? what?
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Someone said they have a small stadium that seats 20,000 on campus. I don't if that's true, but, if it is, it would have only been 20% full with the crowd last night.

Well I looked it up, they are playing their homecoming game at a place called Tad Gormley Stadium... I cannot actually find if that's on campus or not. It doesn't seem to be.
Tulane Stadium, which also hosted Super Bowls, was demolished in 1979.

I zoomed in. Apparently Tad took his ball and went home.
