Rivals is reporting what I suspected-Martin's decision will not happen until after signing date because the Dead Period begins on Monday and new OLM Coach Blake Miller can not be officially hired yet. SMU is scheduled to visit on Thursday along with Miller and UCF will get a shot Friday.

What's the difference between a quiet period and a dead period?

you're right-all the teams I follow are so close to filling up-that I got a week ahead of myself. Miller then is supposed to visit with Martin next Thursday Jan 30 which is before signing date. Interesting, just realize that Bennett has basically finished his recruiting classes by the time that Cavan, Rossley and Gregg were starting theirs after the New Year's Dead Period. Boy was that a STUPID rule. Note how this year the momentum alone of a promising strong class played a big part of our success.

quiet period you can talk to recruit on phone only no visits - dead period no visits no contact by any means

I think that quiet period is when there can be only phone contact, and dead period is when there is no contact at all.
