what makes you think Johnson was even an option? yes, they brought him in...but as I recall Ga Tech then jumped on him so he was never even a viable candidate for the SMU job

I think Jones will eventually turn this thing around and I believe Johnson would have, as well. Different styles but both good coaches.

Johnson, with JW at QB running his option, would probably have had more immediate success at SMU. Might have won 3-4 games this year.
