He's 220-225 now.

Just because the announcer said he's 205 doesn't make him 205...he was 205 when he came here. We've heard he gained to around 220 and that's what the roster has for him.

they noted the Roster listed him at 225 but it wasn't accurate.

Yenga would be a factor wherever he plays-we desperately need his push on the line or he would be a beast at middle linebacker.

I asked Vic Viloria about this, he said Yenga was around 200 when he got here, and 223 now. If you want to take this up with Vic, let me know, I havn't seen a good [deleted] kicking in a while. And there are a couple and this board, that are way over due for one.

205 is just ridiculous for a defensive lineman. he's obviously playing great but how are we so undersized that we have someone that light on the line...? geez

it's funny you accept hearsay from the announcers but won't accept it with the weights/times of prospects. i'll take the roster and Viloria over Stallion

Whatever he weighs, he's a great player. One of the few diamonds in the rough Bennett found

These announcers speak with the Coaching Staffs before the game-I believe that they were suggesting they were given that info from the Coaching Staff. Can't remember the exact words used. Some players can easily lose 10-15-even 20 pounds during the season especially during August practices-this is not unusual. You do realize this pretty commonly understood concept that weights of players change during the season.

As for weight verification by Rivals I don't think about it much because weight as in Fat is the most overrated factor in whether a kid is a prospect. Basically, if a kid has height, speed, quickness, strength agility and can play then proper weight can be easily reached. I don't think I've ever thought to myself WOW look at what he weighs he must a stud. Apparently there are many on the board that go straight to prospects weight and think it actually is significant. I'd bet that more often than not the 320+ pound kids are more obese than physically talented-and have just as many training obstacles as lighter prospects in getting prepared to play.

Hell - we'd routinely fluctuate 6-8 pounds in a normal practice on a nice day - just water weight. More so when it was "hot".

Never mind maintaining weight during the season with all the assorted extraneous things thrown in - though I've seen guys gain AND lose significant amounts during the season, for the OL's I believe we lost more than gained...
pffffffffffft - I see the ScrewUp Fairy has visited us again.

Yes indeed! On paper they are going to compete. Since moving back to Houston from my beloved Dallas, the Rockets have been the only bright spot in Houston athletics. I just wish SMU Football had as much upside as the Houston Rockets. :(

The announcers didn't say where they got their information and 20 pounds would be a lot to lose for a guy who has very little fat to lose. If Yenga were to lose twenty pounds, he'd be losing a lot of muscle which is unlikely. Regarding fluids, I've lost 10 lbs in a day but that's not sustainable and I don't think it's what we're talking about here. I'll take Viloria for 223. Yenga's a great player and still undersized at 220ish

Wait until spring ball, you will see him at outside backer.
