Much of this goes to coaching. Why do you punt up 7 4th and 6 from the 37. Go for the jugular. They go for it 4th and 22. Of course we kick away down 7 with two minutes to go against Tulane. Grow a pair.

Son of a mom, I'm hacked.... well, not hacked. I wish I was hacked. I'm just sort of in the "acceptance" phase... and have been since before the game ended. I was like, yeah, this is about to happen. And it did!!! I wish I could have been pleasantly surprised. Damn it.

You've been an SMU fan for too long to expect pleasantly surprised. I left the stadium with only the consolation that I gave my oldest daughter: It could be worse, at least at the end of the night we aren't from Oklahoma. It was an exciting game to watch, and the crowd (though there weren't as many as I would have liked) were into the game. Heartbreaking way to lose a game they should have won. Here's to continued improvement and a surprising win or two before the end of the season.

I know it is fall break, TX/OU weekend, and the team isn't performing that great, but how many students were at this game. 50? 75?

Maybe. Are you including the band?

True.
I did not expect it, my friend, in fact I didn't even hop for it. I knew that we were going to lose. I knew it as I know the sun will rise tomorrow.
I guess I am glad I started to root for Texas since moving here. Today being the first time I have really rooted for the Horns in this game in my entire life. Other than when I was neutral when I went (for my first and only time) during the UT National Championship season, I have wanted nothing but death for the Horns. Thus proving the point one of my bro's friends told me when I moved here... "you love college football too much, you can't move to a town like that and not end up rooting for the team." I was almost insulted.... but he was right. Sigh.

My dad was with me - he's a UT season ticket holder and was at the game earlier today...about 3 min into the game he said, "where are all the students"? Hard to argue that the student turnout was pathetic tonight.
Even more aggravating to me is the large number of people that left at halftime despite the very close and competitive game. As far as I'm concerned, if that's the kind of fan you're going to be just stay the hell at home. Its more embarrassing to see the fans "quit" on the team halfway through than to never show up at all.

How many people left after the failed 4th down conversion, not realizing that SMU still had 3 timeouts left? The game wasn't over until Tulsa ran for a first down on the first play after the turnover on downs.

The band got them to 150, at most. It was one of the worst student turnouts I have seen in a long time. Granted, I know there were other factors, but come on, how many students actually went out of town this weekend?

Quit whining about the poor student turnout. It's fall break until Wednesday. Most of the students at SMU go back home for fall break. I, and I'm sure many other students, would have loved to be at the game, but I had a schedule flight back home. Send your hate toward the people who scheduled the game/fall break.

The same students who, when they bother to show at all, come late and leave early? Yeah. Good, solid fans that lot. (Note: there are a few students who are there, loud, and support the team, but most do not) I doubt they would have made much of a showing even without fall break. It certainly didn't help, though.

Still hoarse this morning so no church choir.
SMU/WE/the players gave it a great effort.
Someone please tell me if Evan Haulaulu (sp) is red shirting.
We aould be better to not go with a four small D-=Line when Serge E. comes out of the game.
The line flat gets MAN handled.
Love this team and the guys that play.. some are playing out of position.

He's been on special teams, and goal line D at least in the Tulane game that I saw first hand.
Redshirt gone.

I'll lay off if you are one of the ones that stay the entire game - I'll give that to the students that were at the game last night - none of them (or very few of them) left at halftime. The students and everyone else that leaves at halftime can just stay at home - no team needs fans like that.

Bad Play Calls! Bad Execution! 2 plays to gain 2 yards and we pass TWICE!
That's the Run and Shoot. If the pass isn't dropped, it works. I liked it.
That looked more like the "Shoot and Shoot" yourself in the foot to me!
