#1: I believe we only forced them to punt twice, but I'm intrigued by Willis as the news punt returner -- if he tucks the ball away securely which he never did as a QB he could be dangerous.
#2: Also there was a glimpse of an offensive package with him at WR and #81 Walker (listed as a defensive end on the roster) also split out wide... the two "money men" Sanders and Robinson were still out there too.

I've been out of town with no internet acces since Saturday morning.
Did JWill really return punts? Or is this a joke?

I think it was punt, singular. Or maybe I just don't remember the second one.

Oct
Last October this would have seemed like the biggest hoax ever, but this is Ponydom reality.

Yes, he did. Just once. And I think he called a fair catch but I could be wrong.

Houston punted twice Willis returned one for 13 yards - McCann returned one for 13 yards.

Actually on the second punt they kicked it to Willis, who scrambled left for 13 yards and then threw a deep bomb back to the punter, who caught it for a safety. The play was reviewed though, and the call was reversed because Willis was across the line of scrimmage. Thus it was reflected as a 13 yard run in the box score.

I believe Willis was the returner on both punts because I remember being so surprised ont he first one that I thought it had to be a mistake. Then it happened again and I realized I had not had as much to drink before the game as I thought.
If one of them was a fair catch, I don't believe it shows up as a return in the stats. Thus when you look at the game stats, the UH punter had 2 punts, and we only show 1 punt return for the entire game.
The biggest shock of it all is because Willis was never really good at tucking the ball away when he ran. That was the running joke for the rest of the game in section of the stadium.

yeah but most of Willis' fumbles had to do with holding the ball with one hand while trying to keep the pass play alive. If we see him holding the ball with one hand as a Punt Reurner then yank him.
