he is trying to do the best with the deck that was handed to him in DFW. Luckily I've always found Doherty to be pretty resourceful and have some confidence that he will turn over every leaf to fill the class.

Or is Doh doing his best to work his way through all of that? I am sure Doh knows as well as you basketball gurus know, we need a SG. Wish he could snap his fingers and have a DFW four star sign on the dotted line. Until we start playing post season somewhere, it probably ain't gonna happen.
As a self proclaimed bb junkie/gura I will tell you that the best thing Robo can do is bring in 2 big time scorers from the JC ranks. Immediate impact & puts an end to this rebuilding program. Williams & Faye are very good starts. Don't forget we have Christopher Clarke stashed down @ Pensacola JC, which just happens to have an outstanding SG, Virgil Philistan who is not committed @ this time. These same type players can be found all over Texas JC programs. There will be alot of players that will have breakout seasons that aren't even on the radar right now.
These types of guys are pefect fits for our program right now. They are use to playing in front of small crowds.

No doubt. I take what Doh did with Williams & Faye all over again.
The transfer has to sit out so I would rather have a jc'er unless of course you are getting another ACC type player. Then I'll wait.

It is clear to me that we have more talented players now than we had before. Now will that talent and depth translate into wins? Can Doh be flexible on the bench to use the players that he has on the floor in the best way possible? Time will tell. We still are not as talented as Memphis. But I think we are close to being on par with the rest of CUSA in terms of raw talent which is a step up.

And that is after losing Rose.....who I think will be a phenomenal PG in the NBA for years. He's a special talent.

First, we have 10 or 11 freshman and sophomores. If you randomly go grab a juco, you further load up those classes, to the point of being so unbalanced, that this whole process has to start over again. They key is attrition, forced or otherwise, to get some balance back, and flush the program of unneeded filler.
Obviously, Doh struck out on the Dotson/Russell front, but I'm not sure what people expected. You can tell Dotson all day that he'd be the starting SG, but Harp is only a soph, the incumbent, and Walker will probably play more a combo/2, w/the arrival of the 2 true PGs. Meanwhile, Haynes is on campus and nobody knows what type of player he can become. You may see the opportunity for Dotson, but that doesn't mean he doesn't see a log jam. Same can be said for Russell.
If there is one thing Doh is, it's a recruiter. As soon as we see how the pieces fit, he'll find a kid or two to fill some holes. Personally, i'd love to see Will Cherry a Pony. All of the sudden we'd have a bevy of kids that can break u down and get in the lane. Simply, thats trouble for the opposition
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

Is Will Cherry being heavily recruited by anyone? I saw him twice last season and was impressed.

he's being recruited by the Nevada's, St Mary's, Santa Clara's etc. Very undervalued recruit.

You're going to get what you asked for.

I think that is the second time you have implied that. Any idea when that is going to happen?
When will I start feeling stimulated??
