Mesquite, Texas safety Randy Duncan is one of the biggest (6-4, 190) safeties in the state, if not the country. And he is not a misplaced linebacker, clocking a 4.55 in the 40. Supposedly some schools' interest cooled a little when he missed several games last year with a concussion, but with his size and speed, I'd think he'll get significant interest. At the moment: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, SMU
(SMU was just recently added to his list.)

A 6-4 safety who can run? Every team in the country would want that. If he can play, not just run, he could priority #1. I wonder if he would stay at safety or move over to linebacker once he adds some additional size?

If the schools he's mentioning have interest in him, and aren't just some pipedream choices this kid has, then he must have some talent. He's worth keeping an eye on, at least.

There you go - a big hitter coming up from the secondary, and who also can run in coverage. Sounds perfect. Is Mesquite 5A?

I beleive so. And, if memory serves me, they won one of the 5A state titles in 2001.

QB-turned-TE Mark Hodges led Mesquite to the state championship.

....there's a big difference between kids listing schools they are interested in and school's offering scholarships and visits to kids they are interested in. I wouldn't put too much stock in the schools listed by prospects this early otherwise.
