Oh I forgot to mention Burnettee left the UT Football team-didn't know the reason until now. You know he is an SMU legacy-the son of SMU OLM Grady Burnettee in the early 1980s. Do we recruit players based upon political opinions? He would fit in perfect at SMU.

Burnette. Only 1 "e" at the end of his name. Buck is a good player, as well as being Grady's son. I'd love to see him come here.

For once UT did the right thing with one of its thugs. Good for them.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

jtstang they've bounced so many kids out of that program-its not fair to say otherwise. A lot of times we hear these reports most of the time if they have multiple mistakes they are shown the door. I'm sure this will cause great havoc but its true.

No question that the remarks were stupid and wrong...but I wonder how Mac would have handled it if he had been a starter? When it comes to other forms of criminal behavior, Mac seems to have two sets of rules, one for stars and starters and one for everyone else. With a constant influx of the top high school athletes Mac can afford to be firm--with some players.
I only hope that with our new President, that racial slurs no longer exist, and are no longer a "curse" upon our society.

Predominately grounded in the extreme right.

I have to say Mack Brown has coddled some black stars that were far worse in terms of behavior than this kid (dumb comments by the way).
He certainly deserves a second chance somewhere and why not SMU?
