Its one of the reasons why I dont post as much, because I'm scared a players momy is going to come in and defend her little baby. If you are a parent or a friend please dont comment on a post you dont like about your player because you are bias, and bias people are blinded by what they want to see. You are toxicating peoples posts by defending your child or starting posts like "Where is so and so" please stop.
Perhaps if you don't have the balls to say something in front of somebody, you might not want to say it at all.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I have no idea what that last bit even means. Blinded by the truth?

He was revved up like a deuce.
i apologize for that TERRIBLE play on words
Sir, shooting-star, sir. Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
everyone is discouraged. I am a parent of an athlete, also a letterman, and a SMU graduate. I read the comments each week and feel badly for the kids because I know they are playing their hearts out each week. I also understand everyone who posts on ponyfans loves this university and we are all waiting for the tide to turn. I have seen lots of improvement and believe great things will happen for the football team in the future. I really expected to win against Memphis but it did not happen. I expect to win against UTEP and Southern Miss. When the winning does start I know we will all be jumping for joy. Go Mustangs!

I have gotten some positive responses to many of my post. What I have discussed on here is always to shut some wanna be football player or coaches mouth. I know several players on this team, in which many of them have spent numerous amounts of time with me and my family. I have respect for them all. Thanks Pony Fans for allowing me to have some fun. By the way JWill could graduate in December if he wants. So much for grade issues? He has also had some positive contacts from SMU alumni and the NFL. So it is what it is. Folks in football know talent when they see talent. 52 tds and 1000 yards rushing in two seasons on this team raises eyebrows.
Jwill in the NFL. Awesome.[/quote]
Don't know about that? But why not give it your best shot. JJ coming here may turn out to be a positive thing for JWill.

They are working hard and looking forward to turning this around. I hope they know it's appreciated.
Agreed, Soup. The effort is evident and much appreciated.
I'd like to add something about the original post and reactions to it. Why are so many of us so pedantic on this board? Words have no value in and of themselves and are only useful to the degree they communicate what the writer intended. There's little question what the original poster was trying to say, why do we feel so compelled to play junior high schoolmarm all the time? I just don't get it.
FWMustangGirl wrote:I like having the families of the players posting. They add some great perspective. The problem comes when posters think they have an inside track and obsess over certain players and claim to know more than they do.

Just don't say the name again. It's like Beetlejuice.
guess i spoke too soon. glad to have BD back on the board

It got off to a strong start with all kinds of terrible verbage and hasn't gotten back on track yet. I haven't made heads or tails of the original post yet.
I am an x player parent. (Big deal lol)
The general rule of thumb then was never single out a player and bash him on the boards.
If my kid screwed up I was the first to bash him on the board. But he never screwed up much. Gave Up three sacks as a starting right tackle in four years. Ranked # 17 by major news media out of all college tackles for the 2004 draft.
It ain’t high school no more. Even the refs call numbers now
Just pretend like it’s you’re kid then post.
There is a way of expressing opinions about the team/program without calling out the individual. And if you do, you have to expect to get backlash from the families. I feel like defending them and they're not even my kids.
