Southern Miss attendance

Postby RGV Pony » Wed Nov 12, 2008 6:59 pm

If we get trounced at UTEP, and we stumble back into town at 1-10, have no ES and no AR, and play Southern Miss over Thanksgiving break, how many people are going to show up at Ford? Could it be the most poorly attended game ever? What a story of contrasts from the 30k that showed up to the TCU game, and the decent road crowd we brought to Rice.

I doubt it will be the most poorly attended game ever. I'm sure other teams have had it worse. I doubt very seriously it will be any worse than the 10:00 am SMU v. Hawaii game at Ford on Texas/OU weekend a few years ago.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I think something in the neighborhood of 6,000 "announced" is our all-time low. We could push that record.

I remember watching a webcast of SMU-ECU a couple of years ago…that had to be close to an all-time low record in attendance. During the commercial breaks, the announcers were still miked and absolutely trashing SMU. Laughed at the poor attendance and said we didn’t deserve Ford Stadium.

It was actually kinda funny and annoying at the same time because it was so true.

SMU-Rice in the Cotton Bowl in '77. I believe that was about 6,000.

This year's Tulane game was attended by no more than 3,000.

This will be my 5th wedding anniversary. Erin and I were married at the Hunt Grand Ballroom , SMU Student Center, and had the Pit Pops play at the reception.

That was 11-29-03.

My son and I caught the second half of the TCU game all dressed up!

Come to the Boulevard for the party!
Peace be with you.

I'll be there, rain or shine - and I'm not talking about the weather
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Nice pity-party thread we have going here. And the whining goes on and on and on......

Is all you guys have to do is talk about the attendance for the Southern Miss and discuss how embarrassing it will be for whatever the turnout thread?

Terrific stuff from the ever-growiing WHINING FACTION of our fans. Can't enough of you clowns.

Be a fan and figure out a way to get more people to the game.

Your not the coach, not the administration, not the AD so what you can do is come to the games.

If you want to gripe - write one of the above VIP's.

See you Sat, Nov. 29th. :D
