Attendance Question

Postby ReedFrawg » Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:00 pm

I know attendance numbers are not always accurate, but how many people were at the SMU-Tulane game this year? It looked like 5,000 (maybe 10,000 max) on tv but the box score shows 25,600! Yes, it's a slow day at the office...

The extra 20,000 were stealth fans...for reasons of security.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I was actually just looking at CUSA attendance and MWC attendance. I remembered watching that game and thinking how few people were there.

Unfortunately, a lot of days are that slow...

I was there. Maybe 5000 if you count the middle school kids that were bused in and the two bands. The largest contingent were SMU fans.

I was there too. There were plenty of Tulane fans on their side of the stadium. I'd go with 15,000 total...12,000 Tulane fans, 2,000 New Orleans public school students, and 1,000 SMU fans.

They never showed the home side...plus that place is like a cave.
