You got it - Big MenYes, this is just a re-cap of many years of wanting SMU to bring in a herd of big men.
I would get three JUCO ( Do not want to hear why no JUCO's ) and then 7 or eight high schoolers. We could red-shirt half of them so graduation would not all come at once. BIG MEN. So maybe only half play - Wow that's 5 or 6 players. We have lots of DB's, QB's and others that never see the field. Let's have a stockpile of BIG MEN that may never get on the field. Re: You got it - Big MenBus, you need to camp out in front of Bennett's office and every time he comes by yell "BIG MEN...GIVE US A HERD OF BIG MEN". That couldn't hurt. :w00t:
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: You got it - Big MenJust to get in front of the coaches... if they are on the board. BIG MEN.
Get the guy from Blinn and 2 more JUCO's then 6 to 8 High Schoolers. Red Shirt Half of them then we graduate 2 in two years, 4 in thee and 4 in 5. Cool Huh Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: You got it - Big MenThey might not admit it, but a lot of coaches read this board, from what I hear. BUS is right, coaches - LOTS of BIG MEN. Then again, the coaches already know that.

Re: You got it - Big MenWe need lots of big, I mean BIG, mean, SOB's to man our O and D lines.

Re: You got it - Big MenStats to back up that we are getting manhandled. SACKS 9-57 Opponents 25-165; TACKLES FOR LOSS: 36-146 Opponents 56-238.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: You got it - Big Menas I sit and wait for more trick-or-treaters to arrive, was just perusing the list of top 100 area and state recruits and found only 3 linemen showing any interest in SMU.
It would be great to land James McClinton, Kevin Mims and Jordan Jones. What this program desperately needs is a win and for something positive to come out of the finish to this season. Hopefully, we get a decent class this year...but better hope to start winning next year to really build some momentum and attract more interest from these big guys.
Re: You got it - Big MenJust putting BUS' post back up top, where it belongs. BIG MEN.
Re: You got it - Big MenFor next year just think about this.
We have two real freshmen DT'd this year that are playing pretty Good. This year we recruit two or three more and then... Next year we move Adami to D' End and let him KILL some QB's. I think he has what it takes to play on sundays if he gets to show off his talent at D-End. Man - That would be great!! Big Men Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: You got it - Big MenYou can't win without lots of BIG UGLIES.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: You got it - Big MenNormally, I like what BUS has to say. But even though Adami's small for a DT, he's also the best DT. Do we really want to take him away from the position? Bonds and Jones are going to be good - real good - but we can't rely on just two. I know there's others there, but those big guys are the anchors for the next couple of years. We need to add more DEs and DTs, not take Adami out of the mix.
Re: You got it - Big MenThe post was to bring in some more DT's to help Jones and Bonds. So we agree. But Adami NEEDS to be outside at DT. period. WE play too many people out of position for their size... this is just an example.
