Marve would instantly be the most talented quarterback on campus and it wouldn't be close. These are the kinds of transfers that are going to allow us to compete for C-USA titles and get into bowl games. I'd really like what we'd have going on in 2010 with Marve and McNeil. Seriously we could be a pretty salty offense.
Back off Warchild seriously.

The Cincy and Michigan message boards are talking about it, but other than that I have no other info.
Attending Cincy or Michigan maybe difficult. They both are on the quarter system and classes begin on January 5th for Cincy and January 7 for Michigan. One more plus for the ponies!!! IMO if he transfers to SMU it would be a great addition but I think BLM, Braden, and Padron have great upsides.

Hmmmmm....Disciplined for missing class, loves to party, and "wants to play close to home" due to family issues. Even if we do have a chance at him, red flags are flying all over this one..............

I am excited that SMU is even mentioned as a possible choice for this player. June Jones' name and reputation is getting players to look at SMU that would not in the past. Let's hope this kid comes to SMU.

He wants to play close to home because his Dad has cancer. Also, Colt Brennan had some issues as well and he turned out ok. We have got some competition for Marve and it will be a fight to the end probably to land him. Anyway, we will see what happens pretty soon.

That's the type of player June has done well with in the past.

We know that JJ tells his players what is expected of them and holds them to it. After all two star players were suspending for breaking team rules this past year for the last two games of the season. So, if he doesn't obey the rules, he's gone. He'll have a year (including two spring practices) to be on the scout team and learn our offense. And this would set up a great competition in 2010 between him and BLM.
I agree that the timeline favors us. Remember he has to deal with getting admitted to one of these fine institutions of higher learning, getting transcripts from Miami to wherever he chooses and getting them vetted as to transferability issues takes time. Probably less of an issue at Cincy or Michigan, but still his timeframe is very short. And doesn't Rich Rodriguez offense favor a more mobile QB, or did he adapt that to take advantage of White as WVA.

Missing classes? Coach has the answer for that.
Loves to party? Hello, can anyone say "Thetas"? Go Stifler.
Wants to play close to home? Cool. Home is good.
Family issues? SMU needs to offer to cover up this kid in resources to help him deal with family illness or anything else. Back in the day, OHRL had a helluva apparatus for dealing with issues like that. I know b/c I lost my mother during college, and my RA, Hall Director, and Area Coordinator dug me out of some pretty ugly, dark places.
They are good at it.

Close to home - home is in Tampa, Florida - only a long drive away.
as far as family goes - his stepdad died a year or two ago leaving his mom a widow, and his real father has cancer i believe.
I would love to get Robert here, but I would consider it a longshot and hope that our coaches are focused on players where they (coaches) have a greater likelihood of success of landing at SMU.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

That's the type of player June has done well with in the past.
I understand that and I like the fact we are at least invited to the party for players like this but...............Jones has done well with this kind of player at a University that is not known as a bastion of higher learning. To paraphrase Ackroyd to Murray in Ghostbusters, "they expect results" here at SMU which means not many blowoff classes available to a 3rd year student..........

He was late to class 4 times, but under Miami team rules if you are late or miss class it is still a strike. Also, nobody said that young man has poor grades. They are asking for an appeal this week to determine if more restrictions will be removes. If the restrictions on transferring into the state of Florida are removed we might be out of the picture at that point.
