He split time with Jacory Harris. That's why his stats are not as high as others.

If you want what's best for the program, you want guys like him here. he'll sit out next year and would compete against BLM in 2010. competition is good. if BLM is as good as you think he is, he'll be a great backup and BLM doesn't have anything to worry about

This is absolutely true, if you are a fan of the SMU program, you want Marve here. I still think it is a longshot but you should definitely want him here.

We will if we get him. Otherwise, we didn't.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

You sir are out of your element.
Marve was a 4-star recruit & 9th ranked QB in the country by Rivals when he was a senior, Mr. Florida Football, broke Tim Tebow's Florida state HS passing records (since broken by someone else,) had offers from UM, Alabama, etc...
Marve would have started as a freshmen at Miami but got into a serious car accident that sidelined him for a season and damaged his non throwing wrist. That accident sidetracked him and meant he had to compete/split time with highly rated QB Jacory Harris when he finally got fit. That along with Coach Shannon's demands to run the ball more then 50% of the time lead to his mediocre numbers and was the reason he left.
The fact that a player of Marve's caliber is even considering SMU is remarkable and a credit to June Jones. If Marve comes to SMU he instantly is among the most talented players we've had post-death-penalty.

koolherc, you have to understand the Mustang defense system. We need to find all the flaws in a player before they come here, because once they get here, they seem to all show up on the field or off the field. Either the player gets in academic trouble, or joins a rock band, or follows his girlfriend to another school, or starts playing like it was his first football game, ever.
And of course, we need to put up the defense that if he chooses another school there was a reason we didn't want him anyway. The SMU football program and Murphy's Law are synonymous.

Fair enough EastStang -- there are plenty of detractors to Marve like his reputation for being a bit of a "Billy Big Boots" at Miami and if he went elsewhere I would be the among first to pile on with the "he sucks anyways" type attitude, I just had to provide some perspective on Marve to highlight he's much more then the typical run of the mill QB that we get linked to...
Bo Levi and Logan might be good kids but they have no where near the god-given talent and ability that Marve does.

So is there anymore news on this kid. Where he is leaning to, or his favorites or when he will make a decision. There are a couple of stories on rivals, but I am extremely poor and cant afford the premium membership.

When was the last time that SMU had a quaterback that had multiple D1 offers that didn't change positions or transfer or quit? I cannot remember such a QB during my handful of years as a Mustang fan.

Some Miami guy over on the ponystampede public board is painting quite a different picture of this guy - tons of raw talent, yes, but big partier, skipping team meetings and film sessions and classes, surrounded by cancerous parents/friends advising him poorly, etc.

Then I say bring him in. That sounds like a choir boy compared to what they were saying about Colt Brennan.
