Does anyone know if Steve-O has contacted Nebraska about this? The previous coach/AD left a disastrous non-conference schedule for the next few years. I know they are at least willing to consider dumping South Dakota State in 2010 (Sept. 25). That would solve SMU's 2010 problem and Nebraksa's 1-AA problem.
Perhaps they might consider dumping Arkansas St. (sept. 12) or La-Lafayette (sept. 26) in 2009 if SMU were to offer to play both years in Lincoln? (Both of those are 1 game contracts in Lincoln only) Or offer a 2-in Lincoln, 1-in Dallas deal with the third game in the future (like 2017 or 2018). Osborne really liked those 2-1 deals when he was coach. I suggest Steve-O give him a call and offer some OPTIONS! (at the very least for the 2010 date.)
Would at least mean big $$$$$ for the SMU athletic department, and it doesn't hurt recruiting at all to tell a kid he will get to play a game in Memorial Stadium.
