Dallas appears starved for college football ...

It's a fact; I could get several friends/colleagues/family members to each and every SMU home game IF they were winning regularly. The lure of watching college football in a great outdoor stadium on Saturday's in the Fall is pretty strong. Ford Stadium will sell itself once we get any momentum going. Attendance at Mavericks games used to be a complete joke (and may be again soon).

Buying players, getting caught, promising you'll stop as governor of Texas, then buying players and getting caught again. Rinse. Repeat.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

To lose one's home town to outsiders is not an encouraging turn of events. (Rice and TCU don't have this problem.) Discuss.

I see your point and agree. It's a shame that SMU's sports product can't lure the Dallasites. We're starting to sound like the old Brooklyn Dodgers who said after every poor season "What till next year". Except they did have a very loyal following in spite of their record. Well at least until the 'bums' moved to LA.

They still miss the Dodgers in Brooklyn to this very day. Talk for 20 minutes to any one from Brooklyn ( assume they speak English and were born in the US) and the topic of the Dodgers will arise in the conversation. Old timers will get nostalgic and tear up.

Why didn't LSU and A&M work at Reliant Stadium? I guess Arkansas is a very willing participant, more than LSU and their 92,000 seat stadium. And A&M can crack into the market dominated by OU/UT. The game is also further from B/CS than Houston.

OU having two Dallas games is pretty interesting. It should be worth it from the publicity standpoint.
