We're like the French - we are so used to defeat - at the first sign of trouble we get very cynical while waving the white flag.

Any updates re: 2 of my favorite local potential Mustang WR's.

Speculation: LOTT has got to have academic issues. Kid has put up incredible numbers, has great height, impressive on video and is reportedly a great athlete but the recruiting services don't keep up with him plus one of his offers is from Alcorn St. (including 4 D1A offers)Sometimes signs of academic issues. But his brother got into Rice. I'd love to know what's up with him too.

* He did run a very slow 40 according to Scout-4.87 but 150 catches and over 2300 in receptions in 5A in two years is impressive. I have a hard time believing Thomas Lott's son can't run faster than that.
Not a problem. He'll be a Mustang.

He well knows what's best for him.

The nation's soon-to-be best passing offense vs. a mid-range running attack.

So, chill.
...................JJ & Co. have a history of putting WRs in the NFL.

JJ has some hip pocket offers as I recall. But certainly would be a big loss if he went to the U. On the other hand, the mrydel committee hasn't opined on this one yet.

Right now mrydel's WDNWHA committee is deciding whether they want him or not. And he's out shopping for Corvettes, just in case.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

After looking at the U's last couple of recruiting classes it probably wouldnt be a wise decision for Darius to go there. Last year they had 6 commitments that were rated as high or higher than Darius at Wide Reciever.

I do know that Darius is very close with the Highsmith family and has a great relationship with AJ. I think AJ is being recruited as a DB at Miami and not a QB. Maybe that will keep Darius at SMU along with the distance from home. The kid is a competitor and probably wouldn't be too concern with current/prior commits at WR for Miami. I saw a updated "final chapter" video of Darius on Youtube with some new clips. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCH9Pf17TJY.

That is the crazy thing about recruiting. A guy is a great High School player and everybody tells him he is crazy if he doesn't go to a big school....So they all get talked out of going to the school they really want to go to. Since just about every other great player made the same decision, half of those will sit on the bench or transfer. Alot of times guys that even start want to transfer out mainly because others helped them make the wrong deccision......I just wish alot of these guys could see the Real Opportunity here at SMU NOW with Coach Jones and his Staff. Coach is a proven Winner ! Anyone who has the courage to come here now will not be disappointed when they leave here because Coach Jones and his staff will WIN !

Im not suggesting that Darius is not a competitor. But there has been a lot of competitors who have sat the bench for 4 years because they chose to go to a Big time program because they thought that was the thing to do. Darius could come here and start from day 1 and put up some crazy numbers or he can go to Miami to a run oriented offense and try to beat out the 4 and 5 star rated receivers.
