There's a headline on Rivals that says "Chase says reports not true."
Can we assume that the story indicates he's NOT going to visit Florida, LSU and Kansas State? Or that he's going, but only for the sunshine, Cajun food and (whatever you do in Manhattan, Kan.), respectively?
PLEASE tell me that story reports he's re-affirmed his commitment to the Ponies. He belongs at SMU.

Chase says reports not true

SMU’s top recruit in its Class of 2004 is Irving, Texas, three-star tight end Vincent Chase.
But there was a huge stink stirring in Dallas last week when another recruiting service reported that the 6-foot-5, 243-pound tight end was going to take other visits. However, Chase wants to set the record straight.
“I think a lot of people were upset that it was let out that I wanted to take other visits,†Chase said. “But I have talked to coach Bennett and made it clear to him that those reporters weren’t telling the truth. I’m not going on any other visit. It stirred a lot of stuff up, but I’m still going to SMU and that’s the only thing that needs to be reported.â€
That’s great news for the Pony fans that were all up in arms after the report last week. But now that Chase has cleared the situation up, you can expect him to make his official visit on January 9 to the campus in Dallas.
“I’m excited to be playing with my brother next year,†Chase said about his brother, Bobby Chase, who is also heading to SMU from Blinn (Texas) College. “He’s up to 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. SMU wants him to play receiver for them.
“He took his visit to SMU last weekend, and he really liked it a lot.â€

Thanks Vincent!! I will consider that my Christmas present. I also will put away my dear old Lake Highlands sweatshirt and order me a Irving Tiger sweatshirt in honor of my favorite Tigers-Vincent, Bobby, Zach, Lucky and Chris.
I hope I did not forget anyone

Feliz Navidad (cha cha)(cha cha) Feliz Navidad (cha cha)(cha cha)Feliz Navidad Prospero Ano y Feliz Navidad.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think some of these affiliated Rivals and Insider sites (ie. Baylor etc) do slant their reports to the home school which is not surprising considering that is their audience.

Coach Saban was in Dallas yesterday or the day before visiting Herman Johnson. I heard no mention of Vincent Chase...LSU has limited number of scholarships left. Chase isn't going anywhere, definitely not LSU.

That's pretty big stuff. I'd heard from a buddy down here that Saban really likes this Chase kid. A lot. And that he wasn't going to give up on him. This sounds like one hell of a player.

YES!!!
Hopefully James McClinton and some other top players will realize that Vincent had the chance to go wherever he wanted, but realized the exceptional opportunities SMU provides. And then they'll join him!

Swampgas...I am sure he loved Chase and offered him...But LSU has about nine scholarships to give( some think it maybe only 7) and LSU is going after the likes of Early Doucet, Xavier Careter, Luke Sanders...etc. Basically, LSU is going to have another number one recruiting class. Or top 3....But LSU got a four star TE last year, so I just don't see LSU pursuing Chase much further...Someone asked saban on his radio show about dallas recruiting and he said they had offered 6-7 players from DFW this year...

It's great that LSU offered Chase...but just because he got a scholarship offer, doesn't mean he would get one in the end. I heard Saban and I have heard other programs talk about how they recruit, offer, and decide who actually gets the 25 or so scholarships that they can give...

I have heard that a lot of highschool players take visits just so they can go. If he wants to look at Florida..let him. His brother will be at SMU in the spring and he will follow in the fall.

Actually, someone who talked with Chase directly says Bobby Chase will enroll with the freshmen in the fall.
