One of our (Calallen's) rival high schools went to the 4A state semifinals in football a few years ago. That's a 15 game season. They finished 13-2 on the year, one loss being to the team that beat them in the semifinals, and the other being an OT loss to a 5A team that made it to the state quarterfinals.
Of their 13 wins, 10 games were decided by 10 points or less. 2 went to OT. Another 2 were won on the last play of the game (one field goal, and one defensive goal line stand in a playoff game).
If their fans made it through that season without major heart damage, then so can you.
