Quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament. Bears stood toe to toe with them and actually played some defense. Their mental toughness really stood out to me.

The point is that Baylor showed improvement every year. Does anyone truly believe we are on the rise? And if Tulsa can get the recruits to compete, there's no reason we can't.

1. Tulsa has a MUCH stronger basketball tradition over the last 20 years than we do. 2. I think we are bringing in the recruits to compete- McCoy, Williams, Faye- these are guys that could play (or have in Faye's case) at a higher level than in CUSA. Dia, although awful this season, could have been at OU or Louisville just as easily as he ended up here. That is bringing in the players to compete. Now we need to turn that talent into wins.

No I don't see that they made any real improvement every year. This is a key moment. Do you believe in the concept of Program- building or are you going for the quick fix every time. Mike K at Duke had similiar problems when building his program-no conference winning record until 5th year. It is not uncommon at all in either football or basketball. Jackie Sherrill, Ron Meyer, Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech and Bill McCartnety at Colorado are others out of hundreds of examples that jump immediately to mind. It takes 4-5 years-that's pretty common understanding for rebuilding a bottomed out program for those not deluded by the Saviour Complex

Tulsa over the last 15 years- 11 post season trips. Compare that to SMU and I think they might have a slight edge there.
