Maybe a home visit by Phil would help...

I think it's pretty safe to say that Coach Bennett & Co. are on top of the situation. Hopefully Mr. Haynes will consider the value of an SMU education over spending 4-5 years in a pigpen. And as for playing football, I think Phil Bennett does pretty well by defensive backs – just ask Terrance Newman. IMHO, Haynes couldn't make a better decision than to stick with his commitment.

But reading between the lines, this doesn't look good.

After all, if Kyle Griffin can turn down Notre Dame to play for the Ponies, surely Haynes can pass on the hogs.

Arkansas got another committment last night from a DL. It will be interesting to see how they handle all of these committments over and above their allowable signing limit. I have no knowledge of the schemes of "gray shirts" or other methods of which Stallion mentioned earlier, but it sure does appear there are going to be some disappointed piggies being left out or run off by the hair of their chinny chin chin.

They have a lot of non-qaulifiers. They place them in JC's of their choice for one or two years or in one year post-grad prep schools.

Razorback fan here. I thought I might be nice and explain the situation.

The combination of lost scholarships due to NCAA sanctions, 5 juniors leaving early for the NFL, and a senior heavy roster this year has allowed us to oversign this year.

We're really hurting at DB because our two starting cornerbacks left early for the NFL. Don't let the number of DBs we have signed fool you. Haynes will have an excellent opportunity to start here. We only have two or three true CBs on the roster right now, and they have very limited experience. At least one and probably two of those DB signees will earn starts next year.

I'm sure it has been made very clear to certain recruits that they aren't guaranteed a full ride or if they are greyshirts.

Anybody know anything on Haynes. He's supposed to be deciding today.

I heard Houston Nutt was in his house this week, really laying it on thick. But I haven't heard a word yet.

Haven't heard anything yet either. Rivals has nothing either. "laying it on thick"? LOL. Did you bug the place or something?

a post on the Arkansas Insiders message board about 5:00 on Friday but with restricted access said he was still thinking it over.

From what I've heard, he has a basketball game tonight and has not decided. Got to believe that the fact he has not announced by now leans in SMU's favor.
