Derek Williams was a JUCO combo guard signee who averaged 19ppg. If Clinkscales can make the kind of impact Williams did last season, while having an extra year of eligibility compared to Williams (3 vs 2) when he signed, this will be a great pickup for the Mustangs!

McCoy, Clinkscales, and Williams could be pretty good.

We should have been discussing this 3-guard combo a week ago. I wonder where this puts them in that other kid who decommitted from Kentucky last week.
I don't like the 41 percent shooting from the field. That's got to get to 45-47 percent. But it looks like this team is going to be pretty small. Penetrate and kick.

no way on Vilarino, unless Doh tells Walker to take a hike. Not worried about shooting percentage right now, if he's a volume scorer. Just need kids that can fill it up. Efficiency is not part of the Doh era

That makes sense. Still, we should just feel honored that Doherty sat on his throne -- I'm assuming not the one in the bathroom -- and allowed Josh to run with that.
Oh, thank you your majesty for granting us unworthy souls your mercy.
Now, can you and your staff get on with promoting your program....unbelievable.

Obviously you haven't heard about Doh on twitter. Up to the minute updates about starbucks, the yankees, his kids pee-wee sports teams, and advice for travel.

Exactly the reason why I can live without Twitter. We get that crap in his blog.

so anyone want to spill the reason for the delay considering his other alternative Illinois St. filled their scholarship alottment coincidentally with Clinkscales earlier reported commitment. Were there other teams or players involved with regard to the SG slot?

Now, all we need is another quality big man, if we have a scholarship left.

OK, so with JO and Clinskales (sp?) on board -- replacing Fall and Malone, I guess -- are we done or are we going after somebody else because of the Hoge situation?
My understanding is that Hoge was told this was a one-year deal and that was it. But who knows how accurate that is.

I'm not even sure that Hoge was on scholarship for this year at all. I know that he was recruited as a walk-on though (Doherty has even said so in writing last offseason) and I am sure that we have another scholarship to use, should Doherty find someone to use it on. I certainly hope he does.

He mentioned "run and gun". I didn't think Doh was a run and gun kind of coach.

Big deal, the important thing is we got the kid. Now we just need a Juco big man.

Doh is a carolina guy, so it's in the blood - running the offense fast and faster. The real deal is that for this to work, the team must play good defense.
