I have never made my wife go to a S.M.U. game, if she goes

then cool and if not that is cool also, and if she had family

coming in town for her game then I would say have a good one

and there would be no problem.

What if she added "and I want you to come with us" after "family coming in town for her game", problem then?

I would still spend time with the family, just not S.M.U. game time.

So if she asked you to go to her game, you'd say "no." There's the difference between you and Patton.

I am saying she would not even ask me because she knows

how important my games are for me, she is understanding and cool.

This illustration brought to you courtesy of someone who has no concept about what makes a strong relationship. I actually feel kind of sorry for the author because if this is what he thinks it really is, he probably doesn't get it and probably never will.

Leave the game scenario out of it. This is about doing for the other and putting your parter first instead of yourself. If that seems too hard to understand, then your concept of a meaningful marriage and mine are completely different.

That's fine. Do what you gotta do.

As I've said many times, the male ego is a very dangerous thing. And based on some of the responses I'm seeing in this thread, it's just been validated.

Now I expect the author who presented us with the illustration to come up with something uneducated -- or in this case, the usual.
