Kid has very good speed, good hands and overall a good work ethic, not a lot more that you can ask for in a recruit at this stage. He's a good kid and sometimes lets emotions get the better of him, but not a "hot head".
Not a true hidden gem as a lot of programs have looked at him but he's a very good prospect. Can play at almost any skill position.

One last thing: According to the information two Louisiana directional schools offered him in addition to us. Is there something that would have kept other schools like UTEP, Tulsa, Iowa State etc. from offering him because he was too far down on the offer depth chart? Were there some others about to pull the trigger?
I may be judging him based on the other schools who offered but to me that would signal schools liked him but something prevented them because they found somebody just a bit better or were concerned because Troup is a 2A school and a kid like him who performs at the 5A and 4A level is a better risk.
Thanks again.

Troup is one of the best 2A programs in the state. I'll see if I can't make it out there this fall to catch a game or two. Is there any film out there on this kid?
Back off Warchild seriously.

i would rather get a kid with offers to two Louisiana Directional schools than a kid with no other offers.

I really don't think there is any stigma against 1A and 2A athletes from college coaches, especially those East Texas programs. TCU signed 3 kids from one 1A program last year and look at Cayuga this year.
Troup is a solid program and the school gets a lot of visits from Div1 coaches.
About Der'rikk, I think he made it clear that he liked SMU to a lot of coaches so the offers may have been limited for that reason alone.
