Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?Oldtimers?-much like the BYU loss in Holiday Bowl. Just remember this program is not being built for 2009. As far as I'm concerned we are still 1+ with a shot at a bowl in November. They played better defense than I thought they could play. Be a tad more patient and realize that a program is not built overnite.. I really saw some things like I liked out there before Oh No Bo! began
1. The Defense played very well despite missing 2 starters- a lot of great performances on Defense 2. Terrence Wilkerson 3. Held then to less than 40 yards rushing 4. Great performances by Emanuel Sanders 5. (deleted) Bo had his best game as a Mustang Mitchell is still our only option at QB. So get mad but there is no one else we want on the field this year. Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?
don't forget this defense was without Yenga and Bell. They do look much improved but the fact we controlled almost 40 minutes of clock was huge. Will be interesting to see how they far against real athletes the next several weeks.
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?I remember you saying you would puke if we made a hero out of their QB. Lol it makes me mad because he sucks and somehow got carried off the field on top of people shoulders today =/. How did that happen?! (other than the 4 int in 10 mins)
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?I agree that we still have a decent chance at a bowl. The next few games will be rough but the end of the schedule should put us in a position to compete for a bowl. Hopefully that will be a springboard for better things in the next few years
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?Very good stats but we just know how to lose, plain and simple. We are extremely good at it.
Defense did a very good job other than that drive in the 4th qtr. Don't kid yourselves or get your hopes up. We will not be bowling in 2009. I am sick of this. Last edited by Pony_Fan on Sat Sep 19, 2009 8:22 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?
Because they couldn't carry BLM off the field?
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?
give WSU credit...they stink and they know it...this may have been their best/only chance to win a game all year...and yet their fans were great and really helped that team find energy to finish that game. Not sure we will EVER be able to say that about SMU fans. It's just not cool to be as passionate as those of us on this board are. actually, I guess the "Miracle on Mockingbird" was pretty special all things considered
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?the best post all day was when we held them to 3 and out at the end and somebody said Oh no not a 3 and out! now Bo is back on the field! lol
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?I think Calallen's line above was pretty close

hahahahahhahhah A+
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?I know some say we are not bulit for 2009. But the 2009 scxhedule is easier that the 2010 schedule. Our first 3 games of 2010 are
week 1 at Texas Tech week 2 TCU week 3 Washington State. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?didnt we dominate UTEP in that loss during the Bennett era in OT?

Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?
Call me crazy, but I think we may stand a chance in that TCU game. Isn't Andy Dalton going to be gone? Frogs usually take awhile to break in a new QB. This defense will drive them crazy. And we will beat WSU next year, if we don't beat ourselves.
Re: Most Dominating Loss in SMU History?
I think he is a Junior this year. And they took A 5.9 4 star last year. Had offers from Florida and Notre Dame. So he will be a redshirt freshman
