You know you could go and stay for just one half. If they're losing badly, fine - you leave and go drink. If they're winning or close then you can stay out of perverse curiosity. I remember when I was in law school, William and Mary was playing UNC in basketball which was ranked #1 in the Country at William and Mary. It was exam week and I need to study as I had an exam the next day. I went to the game figuring it would be over by halftime and I could go back and study. Instead W&M beat UNC for its greatest victory in its basketball history which I would have missed if I hadn't gone. If TCU beats Clemson this weekend, it could be in the top 10. Sure we'll probably lose the game, but....

it takes everything i have to go to the home games. i can't bear to watch bm play. i will watch dispassionately through the remaing home games. may take something to read.

i don't think i can get out of the houston game. i'll wear red so as not to draw howls of laughter after the game.

For us out of towners all SMU games are away games (unless in my circumstance they happen to play Maryland or Navy - and I haven't missed one of those games yet - including last years monsoon game).

You either support the team or you don't. I haven't missed a game in DFW, Denton, Houston or Lubbock in my 3 years of undergrad so far and don't intend to start now.

I hope everyone in this thread realizes that one more loud fan in the stands helps the players more than a one-man boycott. Because when you say you're sending a message by not attending, you're hurting the kids only. JJ gets paid whether you go or not.

After the UAB game, most of the team came over to the fence to shake hands with SMU fans, and thanked us for coming to support them, Emmanuel Sanders said they were playing for us! So you can be part of the problem, or be part of the solution.
