Great Froggie EffortI didnt notice this at the game, but a guy I know that knows another guy in FW, becuase I would never be in direct connection with a frog sent me this video. Wow.

Re: Great Froggie EffortWonder how many middle school, high school, and college players saw this video played on ESPN, etc. where apparently they show it as a great play.? It could have been that guys last play.
In my opinion, not a smart play and the positive media coverage of it is even worse -- the next kid who does it thinking he's going to be on TV might not be lucky.
Re: Great Froggie EffortI am sure that kids all over the country are not going to start taking off their helmets. You are missing the point. This kid's motor was running in high gear. I have seen tons of guys quit when they get hurt during a play or have an equipment failure, it makes me sick. This is an aggressive sport for aggressive players. If guys are worried about getting hurt, they are not giving a full effort. There are a handful of plays that define a game. This was one of those plays and without that effort this play doesn't happen.
Re: Great Froggie EffortJJ tried to recruit the helmetless blocker, Tanner Brock, to come here from the "Cove". i think his brother's already at TCU
Re: Great Froggie Effort
I believe I mentioned this a long time ago...I saw this kid and his brother when they were running around in diapers. His dad's a football man. Whole family is a football family. I'm sure Dad gave him sh$t for administering such a lick sans headgear; at the same time, teaching discipline and how to sell out means stuff like this goes with the territory. We'd be fortunate to have a team full of 'em, as TCU will when the 3rd brother gets there.
Re: Great Froggie EffortYeah, maybe he should lead with his head like your boy did on Christian and get knocked out for the season. That's a helluva lot smarter.

Re: Great Froggie EffortAgain....stupid play by the young man from the Cove and TCU. I am sure his mother and father would he so proud of him if he was dead or maybe paralized facing a lifetime of diaper changes and bedsores and millions in bills. Of course I am sure you proponents of this type behavior would be right there to offer assistance on around the clock care and making sure his breathing tube was clear and helping with the diapers......I didn't think so. I am sure you would be there for him just like you were there for Charlie Waldrep. Oh, my mistake....that was Bear Bryant and Alabama who came through for the Waldrep boy when the TCU running back was paralized in a game in Tuscaloosa. Bunch of hypocrites! The Christian hit caused by the ballcarrier and defender both running with their heads down in traffic. Thank goodness it wasn't worse than it was!
Re: Great Froggie Effort
so I take it you're not a Jason Witten fan either?
Re: Great Froggie EffortJason Witten did not throw a block. If you are referring to the play I think you are he was hit after catching a ball, helmet knocked off and he kept running. Did you see the look of terror on his face? I am unsure if it is college or pro or maybe just high school that the play is blown dead when a ball carriers helmet comes off. Do you know? I think there needs to be another rule(like we need another one) so something like the TCU incident doesn't happen again. I think the rules committee probably assumed players would use common sense and not try to block a guy running full speed down the field unless they had a helmet on their head.
Re: Great Froggie Effort
The guy did choose TCU. I think that is a evidence of his lack of common sense. The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re: Great Froggie Effort
college for certain; not sure about NFL. Graham Harrell, after losing his helmet, completed a TD pass on SMU right in front us at Tech last year, but we were spared as the officials blew the play dead.
Re: Great Froggie Effort
I'm sure I'm missing something, and don't really care about whatever point I'm supposed to be getting because the facts are simple. No matter what the point is -- you don't hit without a helmet on. Have your kids do it, then God forbid if something happens you can live with it for the rest of your life while you take care of him. http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/sharedcon ... 84507.html This shouldn't be played out as something positive or great to do. As a side note, the play (touchdown) happened because our guys didn't come off their block early enough to take the correct angle. If you think that block made the touchdown, imagine if he got paralyzed. He would have the rest of his quiet still life to remember a block that gave TCU and extra 6 points in a 39 - 14 win over SMU. He would also have the satisfaction that he was an aggressive player in an aggressive sport and didn't quit or make a fan sick because he kept his motor running even with equipment failure. I doubt he or his family would ever think of what might have been.
Re: Great Froggie EffortIf you play football, and quit mid play due to an equipment failure, then you are a baby. He took the kid out on a great block, helmet or no. You don't just run off the field crying. I hope you guys [deleted] are chicks, otherwise, WTF?
Re: Great Froggie Effort
I tend to agree with you. As for the guy talking about the NCAA rule, it specifically applies to the guy in possession of the ball, which makes sense. Moving on, no one goes to Deep Ellum anymore. Maybe you should change your name to uptownfrog. Just a suggestion.
