I'm still sick about Wash. State

Postby 1983 Cotton Bowl » Wed Oct 07, 2009 11:43 am

I find this sensation strange after 2 decades of futility. In the past I was so desenitized by losing that a loss like the one at Wash. State three weeks ago would have stung for about 6 hours, and then faded. But here we are 3 weeks later and I'm still sick about that one getting away. TCU I can understand. . .but this team should by 3-1. I don't think I've felt this crappy for this long about a loss since the loss to 0-10 TCU in 1997. I take that as a good sign. Could it be that I'm actually starting to care again? If so, maybe others are too. But we really wouldn't care if our team was as inept as it has been in the past, would we? So perhaps its that we see enough in this team to realize that they are getting better. That they should win games like Wash. State. I'll call that progress. If we can just get some consistant QB play (which I realize is pretty fundamental), I really see some potential for this team to do good things. I also like the direction its going for next season and beyond. Just some random musings. Go Mustangs!

Don't forget. We still had Peruna, that symbol of losing, when we played WSU......

we need a qb first, which is even more fundamental

the wsu loss should never have happened. we will probably look back on it as the game that killed our bowl chances.

not to be too dramatic but this game against ecu is a huge test for bm. is he a big time player or is he not? can he win a big game? if he can then we have something. if he goes out there and throws ints that are completely inexplicable then jj has to take a serious look at what he is doing.

btw i got the boogie woogie flu

Actually this is a classic case of expectationitis. Take two weeks of no expectations and call me in the morning.

should have won at WSU. Will now have to make up for that by winning one of these next 4 games that nobody expects us to win

You are not the only one. I was actually up for about two hours in the middle of the night last night tossing and turning and thinking about the Washington State game.

I'm sure if we end up 5-7 I will have a few more nights of rough sleep.

Regardless of how this season turns out, I don't think I'll shake the Cougar flu entirely until next season when we beat the tar out of them at Ford. . .AND IF THIS TEAM HAS ANY PRIDE, THEY WILL BEAT THE TAR OUT OF THEM AT FORD!!!!!!!!
