But the big question remains, what movie is on tap at the hotel Friday night? A Few Good Men?

Reinebold is greatness. The WR's are really coming together as a unit even though our resident chicken d*ck know-it-all says they are a bunch of short possession receivers. That's probably why he passed the bar in the mid 80's and is still only an associate. :P
Back off Warchild seriously.

Sit back and watch-I'd say I have them rated just about right as a Unit. Never said Sanders, Robinson or Darius Johnson were possession receivers. Wilkerson rated a little low-probably has earned a 6-which translates to solid(but I took a wait and see attitude on Wilkerson and said a good season by Wilkerson or Haynes could IGNITE the offense), Robinson temporarily because of injuries a little too high. Beasley and the rest are lifetime possession receivers. Beasley once again averaging 8 yards per catch. Darius Johnson when healthy will take his job. The vaunted 2008 WR recruiting class will all be recruited over and will be lucky to see the field when all is said and done. SMU hasn't exactly lit it up in the passing game this year or especially in the last 2 weeks. Lots of drops should be considered too.

PRESEASON ANALYSIS:
Receivers:

Sanders 8 (All CUSA)
Robinson 8 (All CUSA)
Wilkerson 5 (Average)
Beasley 4 (Mediocre)

Not much concern with Sanders and Robinson but the key with be with the rest of the corps who need to force the defenses to play the entire field and make them pay for focusing on Sanders and Robinson. Darrius Johnson is probably the guy that can do that. see below.

Depth; BTW I think Haynes and Johnson will eventually start although I'm interested to see if added strength and a years experience at WR will pay dividends this year for Wilkerson- needs to make more big plays to keep his position. Averaged only about 10 yards a catch. Everytime I saw Haynes last year in the 4 games he was out of the doghouse, he was solid including a 12.4 ypc-so I'm going to rate him a 6. I'm not going to rate Darrius Johnson but clearly believe he is one of the keys to the season. I think he has the ability to become the 3rd big play WR that will make this a very potent offense. As for Beasley-everytime I saw him last year he was mediocre and had trouble making plays downfield and he dropped a lot of balls including a game-winner. Made a lot of catches but wasn't particularly dangerous with only 8.7 ypc. He'll be sitting on the bench unless he improves considerably from his performance last year. The rest of the backup are average.

Unit Ranking: 6.5-[Solid/QUALITY](Darrius Johnson and a 4th WR among Haynes and Wilkerson could really ignite this offense)

On the whole I like the recieving core. I am a little dissapointed that AR seems to be the only reciever that has the big play capability down the field. I think we really need to see someone step up and be that other big play guy. ES has been solid. I am excited to see DJ get back on the field. The other guys are servicable.

Here's CUSA Receiving Leaders (which includes TEs and RB too for context). How many wide receivers have Yards Per Catch under 9-not including TEs and RBs?
