Playing in Space

it will be interesting to see if we adjust the personnel this week to match UH's speed. SMU's defense has performed very well the last 5 games playing an usually large number of traditional run oriented offenses. I think SMU has much better personnel and experience to match Houston than they have had in year's past but in the next two weeks the UH and Tulsa offenses are going to present a new challenge not only to the DBs but especially the LBs. Its also essential that our young DEs (Frazier and Thompson) step up and start now getting to the QB. Keenum has thrown only 4 Ints in 305 attempts

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Are those teams more talented overall? Sure.
Could either of them blow us out? Yup.
Should they both beat us? Probably.

The Ponies came within an inch of beating Houston and Tulsa last year, and our defense is dramatically improved this year. Our defensive ends are vastly improved, if only because they're so much bigger and stronger, and our linebackers are as well, because of improved speed and experience and the emergence of Chase Kennemer. The improvement of the front seven also has made the secondary much better, obviously.

Will we improved enough to upset one of these two teams? Who knows ... but we might just knock off either one.
