I would imagine an eastern or southeastern school to keep the conference balanced.

Why not TCU???? Bring back and unite the Southwest Conference cast offs. Geographically close with existing rivalries.

At this point, no way TCU would return to Conf USA.

never say never...but CUSA would have to grow into a stronger conference with better revenues than the MWC for them to consider the move

The odds are probably better that we get our [deleted] together in football and move into the MWC with TCU than them coming back to C-USA.

The Froggies reasoning for the move was cloudy at first, but the MWC distances themselves a bit further ahead of C-USA every year in football and could be on the cusp of bigger things. Personally, I think it would be great if we could establish some momentum in football and end up being in the discussions if/when the MWC wants to expand.

Maybe pick up LaTech or UNT? Could also wait on Texas State to get their act together.

since Memphis is in the east division of Conf USA, it stands to reason that if it left a team from KY or TN or somewhere in the southeastern part of the country would be added. UNT would add nothing to the mix.

First, I would not want to be a 12th team in the MWC. Why would we want to be in a situation where we have all that travel and play SDS, UNLV, TCU, UNM ( and some combination of Boise, Fresno, Hawaii, Nevada) every year (sounds like the WAC) and we get BYU and AFA (the two draws in the MWC every four years at home)? And the rest of the time we get Wyoming, CSU, and Utah -right now good. And I really don't trust the BYU, Utah, Wyoming, AFA, and CSU folks to resist putting us into the black-hole division. They have nine teams which gives them a nice 8 game schedule every year, and adding teams is a headache for them. UNLV wants Nevada. SDS wants Fresno. TCU wants UH/UTEP/SMU for travel partner. Several teams want Boise. BYU wants Hawaii and Boise for church reasons. They agreed at the last expansion they would limit it to just TCU because they had no consensus on any other teams. Unless there was a guaranteed BCS autobid, I wouldn't go there.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
