At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Mestengo

Mestengo is the Spanish word for Wild Horse. The Mestengo is the Marine Corps Mustang Associations Quarterly publication and is not an official publication of, the U.S. Marine Corps or any agency of the U.S. Government.

It suits me...

Mestengo is an old Spanish word, no longer in use, meaning stray, homeless or wild. When horses brought to North America by the Spaniards four centuries ago escaped into the wilderness, they were often called "mestengo," but in fact they were returning to their ancestral home, having originated there many ages ago when the continents were still connected. This orchestral work, then, was catalyzed by the image of horses in the wild, and by the ideas their history represents to me: reviving an ancient, elemental memory and breaking from captivity to search out and reclaim one's natural state.
