December 22 right now is a cheap travel day. But the problem is most of the Post Christmas Days are more expensive than Pre-Christmas Days.

I'm staying in the Sheraton Waikiki because that's the most central full resort hotel-there are some renovations currently underway but many of the renovations are apparently complete- apparently still working on Entrance. I thought long and hard about the brand new Trump Waikiki(opened last weekend-but I think it would have been about $600-800 more-although they do have some reduced rates. You will always be in the center of the action at the Sheraton Waikiki even if there may be renovations under way. I got mine for about $2200 but I'm staying 5 full days, with an upgraded Ocean Front room, mid-size rental car for 5 days plus I had to have a non-stop flight back on Christmas. I noticed even quality 4 star hotels for much less.

I'd suggest checking the charts on Kayak.com which show the prices at various time for each week of a particular month and the past history of rates changes-airlines change their rates so often these days that you've got to jump when you see a drop which usually happen mid-week. Also check Travelocity, Orbitz and Expedia to get the Vacation Packages with combinations for Hotel-Air-Car Rental.

Stallion's right. Originally I was going to come back on the 27th, but fares skyrocketed on that day. Both dates still have exit row seats available...check the available seats at aa.com.

On the off chance that we don't go (which multiple sources have told me there is no chance we don't go), as Stallion says, Christmas in paradise isnt bad, and I'd probably mosey over to watch whatever other two teams are in the game. When's the basketball tournament again?

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

It's fun to read the Keeper really excited. Was it like this in the early 1980s?

I have a brother there. Just need to find a cheap airfare. Any helpful tips out there? Any ex-bandsmen going?
